Why are pharmacies allowed to price gouge for prescriptions and medical supplies?
My 1 year old daughter has been wheezing a lot lately and the doctor prescribed her proventil an inhaler and a spacer with a mask to deliver the puffs since she is incapable of following instructions to use a regular inhaler . Insurance wouldn't cover the spacer, so I ended up paying $71.99 for it at CVS. Then, when I got home, I looked up the spacer online and found it for sale widespread for $28 It seems like the pharmacy has price gouged here, did they not? After all, people tend to go to pharmacies for these types of things when they have an urgent or emergency situation. Why not jack up the price 3x the normal amount? I'm angry right now, is there anything I can do?

Since I don't have health insurance, should i buy a few basic medical supplies and learn how to do basic?
Medical prodecures, just in case i get hurt? For example, i could learn how to sew up a bad cut in case i get careless with my kitchen knives, ro learn how to set a cast in case i break my arm somehow.Maybe this will force doctors to stop charging outrageous exhorbitant prices for basic procedures, because they'll get competition from their own potential patients. And of course, more importantly, if they charged fair prices, more people could afford health insurance Jessica, be nice.If you can change your oil in your back yard at the horror and dismay of your mechanic, why can't i put a few sootchers in my finger when my paring knife slipped?
What can I do with all these unused medical supplies?
My last roommate had to have a pick put in so he could get factor everyday because he is a hemophiliac. As a result, he had to have gloves, bandages, dressings alcohol swabs, syringes, etc delivered. When he moved out, he left 2 boxes full of supplies. We contacted him yesterday the other day and he said he didn't need them. Do you think the local hospitals would accept them or is there some organization out there that can use them? I would feel bad throwing it all away but it is taking up space. They're the little syringe things without a needle on them.

How can I heal cuts without any medical supplies in hand?
Hi, what brings me to this question is that while at the mall with my friends, a friend of mine was in the arcade and got a cut from a rusty steel bar. He was bleeding badly and quickly and since there was no rubbing alcohol I remeber my mom using perfume to help disinfect so I did the same and I helped him until medical attrention arrived. So my thought is god forbid if I'm in a situation where there is no medical supply like rubbing alcohol and I have to help someone with a big gash or something deep how can I help or heal it? Thank you

Getting better medical supplies from GP?
I need advice on hows best to approach my GP regarding getting better equipment for my medical condition.I currently use butterfly needles for my subcutaneous infusion, and have been told to ask for an alternative as butterflies are too painful and intrusive. It has been recommended I have Thalaset or Softset needles, I have asked the district nurse but she said I'd have to refer back to my GP. I know he is going to say I will have to have them on prescription because they are more expensive than butterflies, but I don't see why I should pay How do I approach this, and get round having to pay for NECESSARY medical supplies? There is a drug I could have instead of the sudcut infusion, but I have to have the infusion " because of lack of funding, that is why I am adamant I am not paying for the needles on prescription, if I have to pay, I want it to be for the oral version of the stuff I have to have injected for 12 hours It infuriates me that there is a post code lottery regarding drugs and equipment, perhaps I could try another PCT? or does it have to be the PCT for the area you live?
